Stopping after your end payment date
You can stop making contributions to your KiwiSaver account when you reach your end payment date. This is when you reach 65 and have been a member for at least 5 years.
You become eligible to withdraw all or part of your savings when you reach the age to qualify for NZ Super (currently 65) as long as you've been a KiwiSaver member for a minimum of 5 years.
The date you become eligible to withdraw your savings is known as your end payment date.
You're no longer required to make contributions to KiwiSaver after your end payment date but you can continue to make contributions if you wish.
If you decide to stop making contributions, you must complete a Non-deduction notice (KS51) and give it to your employer.
